I came across this photo this morning on Pinterest and I have to tell you ....a little secret....
as soon as I see houses like this my heart beats fast...my brain goes in to high gear with the endless possibilities that lie in wait. What I can discover, how I can revamp it and bring it back to it's former beauty.
It's gorgeous, isn't it? The peeling roof, over grown yard spells endless possibilities.
Some would shy away from this type of thing, but for me I am ready to jump right in.
Yes with a pile of money no less. You never know what you will uncover with a project like this.
Funny story, before I got married my now husband and I went looking for houses.
We came across a gorgeous old home in need of plenty of work. A bit like this but not as bad.
It had potential beyond belief, gorgeous old butlers pantry, three stories, the list goes on.
To say the least I was smitten and would have jumped right in......then we brought my parents and future in laws in...they thought I was crazy...this is going to be a headache, you don't know what you are getting in to, it will be a money pit. You get the picture....I think about that house and how gorgeous it would be today.
In the end I ended up with another house that I have totally and completely redone...so I am not sure I ended up much better. So if your heart sings when you see something like this I say do your home work and if it seems like a good investment then jump right in and love every minute.

I am with you on this one. We finished a large renovation about 5 years ago, although you are never really done. I am dreaming about the next house (project). I can't wait to reno a place again.
