I am honored to have Donna from the blog A Perfect Gray as my first guest blogger.
A few weeks ago I was reading her blog and read her post on her New Bergere Chair.
It is the perfect Frumpy to Fabulous...and so I thought...this is a must for my weekly Frumpy to Fabulous series. If you have not read her blog it is a must for your daily read list!!!
Here is her post on her New Bergere Chair...
Oh, I do love a great piece of furniture at a great price.
One of my favorite things to do is scout around thrift and antique shops for a piece with great bones.
I had some luck not too long ago in finding a french-style bergere chair that needed just a little love.
my thrift store bergere chair - after!
before!
all the detailing on the chair made it perfect for paint and glaze
I had been itching to try Annie Sloan chalk paint - so I went for the Paris Gray, of course.
Annie Sloan paints don't require priming or sanding. Yes!
I painted the chair and finished it off with a Ralph Lauren glaze.
Then I had the chair reupholstered.
I am an absolute nut for graphic black and white designs, so I didn't go the usual route and cover the chair with a solid linen, like you'd expect....
Here is the after:
The fabric adds such a punch to my otherwise neutral space...
Now, I love my chair.
A great piece...at a great price!
